Barcelona Ready for First Game at Partially Completed Camp Nou this Saturday

The club confirmed their first game will take place at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou on Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit Athletic Bilbao in the Spanish league over two years since relocating for construction to commence.

“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”

The stadium will not be at full capacity with 45,401 fans can be present under the licence granted. When completed, it will accommodate close to 105,000 fans, a rise from the old capacity. Officials confirmed completed upgrades featured a new players’ tunnel plus modern locker rooms.

Preparatory Events

Barça organized an open training session inside the stadium on 7 November. The club said they are seeking authorization by UEFA to play their next home Champions League game against Eintracht Frankfurt in December at the stadium. Their recent games have been held at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
