Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Released from Hospital in Lagos Following Deadly Road Accident
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been released from care, Nigerian authorities stated on Wednesday night. The 36-year-old was part of a serious road collision outside Lagos on the 29th of December, a tragic incident that took the lives of two of his team members.
Healing from Light Wounds
Joshua had remained in the hospital while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his promoter stated earlier on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on X that Joshua was declared medically stable to continue his recovery at home.
“Anthony and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two friends who passed away as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the official remarked.
Remembering the Victims
The victims of the crash were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. The official further stated that the champion was filled with sorrow and overcome with emotion over the loss of his two dear friends.”
